The awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements in the industry. Winning Tasmanian Independent Business of the Year, DoDay was recognised for the significant impact that it is having on its clients and its positive contribution to the Australian Health and Exercise Industry. It is an extraordinary achievement after such a short time in business.
The awards recognise practitioners who are inspirational role models and leaders for the Australian preventative exercise industry and community.
DoDay Founder Michael Behrakis said “I didn’t want to create another fitness brand that is targeted at gym junkies. DoDay was founded to help as many regular people as possible to improve their quality of life through better fitness.
“Physical inactivity is the second most important risk factor that contributes to the burden of disease in Australia,” he said. “But many people are too frightened to step into a gym. I want to change that.
“The DoDay brand was designed to help overcome gym intimidation to help those that need it the most. Not your average gym goer, but everyday people who would not feel comfortable stepping into a gym without somebody in their corner.
“Seeing people’s lives dramatically improve as a result of better fitness is incredibly rewarding. There is nothing better than someone saying ‘the best thing I ever did was come to you’.”
The awards reinforce AUSactive’s vision to activate the nation: Every body. Every way. Every day. Award applications are reviewed by an Independent Industry Judging Panel.
The awards were held over the weekend in Melbourne.
